The coin Centenary of the World War I

Italian mint euro coins will continue the cycle devoted to the First World War. and released in honor of this event, a new commemorative coin 10 euro.

The First World War is one of the large-scale armed conflict in the history of mankind. This title is confirmed in historiography only after the Second World War in 1939. In the interwar period it was used the name "The Great War" (English. The Great War, fr. La Grande guerre), in the Russian Empire it was also called the "Great War", "Great War", "The Second World", "World".

The formal reason for the war was the assassination of Sarajevo June 28, 1914 Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand of nineteen Serb terrorist, a student from Bosnia Gavrilo Princip, who was a member of a terrorist organization "Mlada Bosna", which fought for the unification of all South Slavic peoples into a single state. As a result, the war ceased to exist four empires: Russian, Austro-Hungarian, Ottoman iGermanskaya. The participating countries have lost killed more than 10 million soldiers and 12 million civilians, about 55 million people were injured.

Obverse represents Italy. It shows the head of a statue of goddess Victory Winged Victory, which is placed on the forehead five-pointed star. Around the head of Victoria inscription - Republic of Italy, at the bottom the year of issue - 2015. The image is taken in the rim of olive and laurel branches symbolizing stability and glory of warriors.

In the center of the reverse Vittorio Emanuele Monument in Rome, representing a dying hero, based on human chains, which the hero freed from suffering. To the left of the image of the monument face value - 10 euros, under the symbol par inscription - Centenary of the First World War. To the right of the monument - mint mark - R.
