Capturing the strength, movement and grace of this majestic animal, the reverse is distinguished by a magnificent design of three horses in full-stride, complemented by a distinguished representation of the traditional Chinese character for the word ‘horse’.

Obverse. Three wild mustangs or stallions gallop directly at the viewer in this dynamic portrayal. The center, lead horse is highlighted in selective 24-karat gold plating. The Chinese word for "Horse" and the legend YEAR OF THE HORSE define the theme.

Reverse. Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II of England, in crowned profile facing right. This portrait, featuring Her Majesty wearing a tiara and pearl drop earrings, was executed by the sculptor Raphael Maklouf. The legend ELIZABETH II, the date of issue and denomination also appear, while the legend 5 OZ 999 SILVER guarantees the weight and purity.
