50th Anniversary of Decimal Currency Obv.: Small Version of the 4th portrait of Queen Elizabeth II facing right wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara, Reproduction of 1 Crown (5 Shillings) Coin. Comments This coin was released as part of the RAM 2016 Mint and Proof Sets and commemorates the Changeover 50 years ago to decimal currency in Australia. It is unusual in that the Reverse of the coin is the same as a standard definitive 2 Dollar coin. The Obverse of the coin has a miniature Ian Rank-Broadly Queens Head and a representation of an Australian Crown coin (5 Shillings) as issued in 1937 & 1938. This coin has been released as a circulation coin in 2016 alongside the normal definitive version.
