Obóz Koncentracyjny Auschwitz-Birkenau) - a set of German concentration camps and death camps located in the years 1940-1945 to the west of the General Government, near the town of Oswiecim, which in 1939 was Hitler's decree annexed to the territory of the Third Reich, 60 km west of Krakow. In international practice to use the German name "Auschwitz" and not the Polish "Auschwitz", because it is the German name used by the Nazi administration. In Soviet and Russian reference books and the media [historically mainly used the Polish name, although the German gradually comes into use.

The obverse is traditionally a depiction of Queen Elizabeth II. Around 15 crosses the portrait. Close to portertom - Mint logo Czech Republic. Around the rim, inside which otchekneno: «NIUE ISLAND» (country of issue), «FIVE DOLLARS» (coin value), "2015" (year), «ELIZABETH II». Between words bear point.

On the reverse of a crowd of people without faces and names personifying ruthlessly murdered in the concentration camp prisoners. The figures bear fragments of names of prisoners. They stand at the open gate of Auschwitz. Set on top of the Nazi camp motto: «ARBEIT MACHT FREI» («Work makes you free"). Around the rim of the image, which is engraved: «OSVOBOZENÍ OSVĚTIMI» (the name of a coin), "27. LEDNA 1945 "(date of the liberation of Auschwitz.

The coin is made of gold 986 samples (proof), the weight of 3, 498, 20 mm in diameter, with a circulation of 200 copies.
