“Piggy” coin, 1 dollar

The Mint of Poland is jubilant to announce the release of the spellbinding “Piggy” coin – a symbol of luck enchanted in a silver coin blank, which from today could be your most cherished talisman.

The piggy is considered to be an animal which brings good luck and wealth. In Ancient Egypt it was a symbol of fertility, abundance and good harvest.

Reverse: On the left side of the coin – an image of a pink piggy bank. On the right – a capsule containing a 24-carat gold-plated filigree insert. In the background – a stylized surface emblazoned with decorative motifs in the form of four-leaf clover coins announcing the next theme in the series. Along the rim – an inscription: GOOD LUCK.

Obverse: In the central part – a capsule containing a 24-carat gold-plated filigree insert. Above – a profile portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. On the right – an image of a piggy bank. In the background – a stylized surface emblazoned with decorative motifs. Along the rim – inscriptions: NIUE ISLAND (the issuer), ELIZABETH II, 1 DOLLAR (the face value), 2014 (the year of issue).
