The Mint of Poland presents the fifth and last coin of the “Renaissance Masterpieces” series. From now on the coin depicting a faithful replica of one of the most magnificent pieces of Renaissance art may be a wonderful complement to your collection.
This work of coinage combines rich painting tradition and modern trends in contemporary mint art – a fruit of mastery of the great Italian painter and the highest artistry of coin minting. The uniqueness of the coin is emphasized by its intriguing theme, innovative decorations and the exceptional shape of a square.
In the upper part of the coin – sophisticated ornaments embellished with selective gold plating. Below – a stylized piece of the Renaissance attic. On the left – an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the mint mark (m/w) and face value (1 DOLLAR). Along the rim – inscriptions: NIUE ISLAND (the issuer), Ag 999 (the hallmark), ELIZABETH II and the year of issue: 2014.
The reverse of the coin depicts a multicolour replica of the “Woman with the Veil”. On the right – ornaments characteristic for the Renaissance art. On both sides of the painting – inscriptions: WOMAN WITH THE VEIL / PORTRET KOBIETY (the name of the painting in Polish and English).
