The coin’s reverse portrays a cute Australian kookaburra carrying a sleeping newborn baby in a swaddling cloth. A representation of Australian vegetation, the inscription CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR BABY, The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark, and the 2014 year-date are also incorporated into the design.

Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, this aluminium bronze coin features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination on the coin’s obverse.

Each coin is presented in a beautifully designed card enclosed within a themed, official Australia Post envelope.
