Traditionally, the coin bears a portrait of Her Majesty Elizabeth II, surrounded by the following inscriptions: the Queen’s name, the face value of the coin, its metal fineness, issuing country and year.
On the beautifully illustrated reverse, one can see two kingfishers, small blue and orange birds that live both in wetlands and woodlands throughout Europe and Asia. The vivid colors of their feathers seem to be blue, green and orange depending on the angle at which they are viewed. These birds feed mainly on fish, which they catch by perching on a branch overhanging the water, and plunging into the water when a prey appears within striking distance. The legends on the reverse include the series name and the bird’s names in Polish and Latin. Discover a new fascinating series of bird coins, certain to catch the eye of collectors and simply nature lovers!
