Make a nature-lover happy by giving a collector coin reminding him or her of the significance of our lovely forests. These collector coins are packaged in purses made of recycled materials by Finnish design company Globe Hope.
The enchantment of the wild never fades. A coin that immortalises the beauty of the wild makes for a fine gift or complement to any collection. This collector coin minted in honour of the Northern wilderness reminds us of the magical beauty of our coniferous forests.
The North is part of the taiga zone of conifers encircling the northern hemisphere. The mental landscape of huntsmen and other inhabitants of the North is inspiring no matter the season, as it shifts from pure white snow to the riot of autumn colour.
The coin's obverse features boughs of the most familiar conifer, the pine. The adaptability of the pine is without equal, since the tree retains its needles through the long winter and is protected from forest fires by its thick, shell-like bark.
These collector coins are also offered in sets of 10 UNC-quality coins packaged in a purse bearing Mint of Finland logo. A purse of collector coins in celebration of nature provides you with many fun gifts or an interesting complement to your own collection.

Few animals can match the owl for the intensity of its gaze, and the eyes of the snowy owl are further distinguished by a third diagonal eyelid that protects them from the Arctic wind and bright sunlight. Contrary to common belief, owls can see day or night, an ability that is particularly important for the snowy owl, which must hunt under the midnight sun of the Arctic summer.
Unlike other birds, an owl's eyes are located on the front of its head, an adaptation that heightens its depth perception for targeting prey, which it can spot over tremendous distances. Owls cannot roll their eyes the way humans do: they are fixed in their sockets. This is yet another intriguing adaptation that produces the signature way owls turn their heads — as much as 270 degrees in either direction before fixating on their prey.
First in a 3-coin annual series. Don't be disappointed, order your coin today before they're all gone!
Special features:
• The addition of bright yellow and black enamel on your coin gives added depth to the owl's eyes and contrasts the softly frosted feathers of its face.
• A FIRST: Your coin is first in a 3-coin annual series celebrating the striking eyes of Canadian wildlife
• Your detailed coin celebrates the snowy owl, a strikingly beautiful bird of prey inhabiting much of Canada's North.
• A striking addition to your Canadiana-, bird- or nature-themed collection.

The Royal Australian Mint have launched a new coin which perfectly blends both the celebrations of New Year’s Eve and the City of Sydney & its iconic Bridge with a design that utilizes the latest holographic technology.
In a program co-sponsored by the City of Sydney, Lord Mayor Clover Moore said, “The commemorative coin would become a collector’s item and would be the first in a 10-year series to be released on the 1st of January each year.” Further adding “Each year, tourists and Sydneysiders ask whether they are able to take home a special memory of Sydney New Year’s Eve, so for the first time we’re creating this special piece of memorabilia.”
Designed by Royal Australian Mint artist Aaron Baggio, the fine silver proof coin will feature a color hologram that changes to show the bursts of light appearing over the Sydney Harbor Bridge during the world-renowned Midnight Fireworks display.
Also featured on the coin is a special symbol that was revealed at midnight on New Year’s Eve. The ‘all-seeing’ eye is Sydney New Year’s Eve Creative Ambassador Reg Mombassa’s key artwork feature, which appears at the center of the coin. Each year the theme will change as this coin is the first of a ten year series. This year the theme is Shine, celebrating Sydney as a city where the sun, the water and the people shine.
The obverse includes the current circulation coin portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II designed by Ian Rank-Broadley along with the year of issue “2014”.

Every summer, a melodic song like a sliding whistle fills the air above the open fields and grasslands of southern Ontario and east to the St. Lawrence Valley. It's the happy tune of the eastern meadowlark, a medium-sized songbird that isn't a lark, but a member of the blackbird family.
This cheerful bird often sings in full view from an exposed branch or fence post, and its vibrant colours make it easy to spot. It has a yellow throat and belly, and a distinctive black v-shaped collar. In contrast, its back and wings are a darker pattern of mottled black and brown — the perfect camouflage for walking on the ground and digging in the soil for insects. When the meadowlark flies, it alternates between a few rapid wing beats and graceful glides—a distinctive flight pattern that only adds to the endearing nature of this delightful bird.
A beautiful gift for people who love birds, natural imagery, exquisite natural artwork and Canadian themes.
Special features:
• Coloured coin is the 13th in our renowned Birds of Canada series.
• The vibrant colours in your coin bring to life the brilliant colouring of the eastern meadowlark and the wildflowers that are part of the songbird's grassland habitat.
• A beautiful coin for bird aficionados, and a striking addition to your Canadiana- or nature-focused collection.
Coin was designed by Canadian artist Tony Bianco, and features a vibrantly coloured eastern meadowlark as it stands perched on a wooden fencepost, mid-chant, amidst a field of wildflowers and grasses.
