The Flight coin is the fourth release from the exciting Young Collectors Super Powers series which looks at superheroes and their superpowers.
Imagine being able to fly – gliding effortlessly through the sky, free as a bird, in control of your own flight path. Since humans have been able to walk they have dreamt of being able to fly. Thanks to the advancement of technology, these gravity defying dreams may now be within reach.
The coin’s reverse depicts a coloured female superhero flying through space, with Earth in the background. As well as the inscription FLIGHT, the design also includes The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and the 2014 year-date are featured on the coin’s obverse.
A great gift for any budding young collector, the Flight coin is housed in a presentation card with spectacular illustrations and information about flight.
