Centennial Coin Toma de Zacatecas

Centennial Coin Toma de Zacatecas

The taking of Zacatecas was one of the most significant battles in our history because it defined the course of the Mexican Revolution.

Francisco Villa and his army known as Northern Division on their way to Zacatecas joined forces with Panfilo Natera. On arrival, they worked with the General Felipe Angeles for planning decision. At 10 am on June 23, 1914, 38 guns opened fire which marked the beginning of the heroic deeds of Zacatecas, this being the last point to defeat the forces of the Federal Military Government of Victoriano Huerta to reach Mexico City. Twenty thousand men of the Northern Division took the hills of Kufa and Grillo and later take the city.

Mexico Mint proudly coins commemorative coin with a face value of $ 20, in which the reverse presented to General Francisco Villa, General Felipe Angeles accompanied by Panfilo Natera. The obverse design bears the Coat of Arms.
